Description
Flat Bread
A flatbread is a type of bread made from flour, water, and salt, kneaded into a flattened dough and cooked on a hot surface like a stone or metal griddle. They can be leavened (using yeast) or unleavened (without yeast), and common examples include pita, tortilla, and naan. Flatbreads are a globally significant food staple, representing the earliest form of bread and existing in both single-layered and double-layered varieties.
Naan is the term generally used to refer to any type of bread in Iran, widely consumed in the Middle Eastern countries. It has traditionally been a main part of every Iranian family’s meal, providing nutrients for hard-working people, especially in rural areas.
With the growing demographic diversity in the Bunbury area, these Middle Eastern types of bread, flat, Turkish and stone baked, are becoming more and more popular even among the host community.
