Brown Sugar Muffin Recipe

Here is a recipe for brown sugar muffins:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease or line a 12-cup muffin pan with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the brown sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in the milk, egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the nuts if desired.
  4. Fill each muffin cup 2/3 full with batter.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
